Job summary

Road Machinery & Supplies Co. is seeking a Field Technician to join its Centerville, MN team in the Northern Twin Cities area.

You will serve as a service repair contact for customers in your geographic area and may be dispatched elsewhere as needed, prioritizing repairs with urgency. The role requires a minimum of five years of field service experience on OEM heavy equipment or aggregate machinery, with strong hydraulic and electrical troubleshooting skills and the ability to communicate

Qualifications

• Minimum 5+ years as a Field Service Technician for heavy equipment or aggregate distributors.
• Strong diagnostic and problem-solving abilities.
• Experience with hydraulic and electrical systems on heavy equipment.

Responsibilities

• Maintain communication between customers and internal RMS departments to complete work and grow service labor sales.
• Utilize various computer programs and OEM software along with RMS resources to complete jobs, using operator manuals, technical drawings, and electrical/hydraulic schematics.
• Perform troubleshooting and diagnostics to determine repairs needed, communicate needs, and make necessary repairs.
• Test equipment after repair and assembly to ensure proper performance and compliance.
• Maintain company service vehicle, inventory, tools, and equipment adhering to DOT and MSHA compliance.
• Keep updated with knowledge of RMS and competitor products through vendor, internal, and online training.
