Job summary

Closner Equipment is seeking a Field Service Technician to diagnose and repair heavy construction equipment, perform maintenance, and operate in shop or field settings. You will communicate with customers and use digital reporting tools while meeting deadlines set by the Service Manager.

The role requires 5+ years’ experience, a valid driver’s license, and strong knowledge of hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems. Overnight travel may be required; safety and quality are emphasized.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 5+ years of experience repairing/maintaining construction equipment and tools.
• Advanced mechanical aptitude and working knowledge of tools.
• Valid driver’s license with clean driving record.
• Deep knowledge of construction equipment with strong schematic understanding.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
• Ability to read electrical and hydraulic schematics.
• Welding or pneumatic experience required.
• Overtime and travel up to 150+ miles; occasional overnight stays may be required.
• Strong work ethic, integrity, and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Operate a company service truck safely and autonomously.
• Meet deadlines set by the Service Manager.
• Diagnose and repair various equipment systems with minimal supervision.
• Communicate work performed verbally and via digital reporting tools.
• Request parts using service tools and ensure accuracy.
• Maintain safe work habits and a clean workspace.
• Mentor junior technicians when applicable.
• Complete required paperwork efficiently and on time.
• Attend factory and other training as directed by supervision.
• Continuously improve trade skill sets.
