Job summary

Astreya is seeking an entry-level Installation Technician in Las Vegas to perform rack-and-stack installation of servers, switches, and storage hardware in data centers. You will follow rack elevation drawings and ensure proper labeling and asset tagging.

You will conduct passive site surveys, assist with cable termination (CAT6/A), cabling dressing, and assembly of racks and aisle containment, while maintaining OSHA safety standards and delivering concise written updates to shifts.

Qualifications

• 0–2 years experience in data center installation.
• Proficient in copper (CAT6/A) termination.
• Follows rack elevation drawings with precision.

Responsibilities

• Perform rack-and-stack installations of servers, switches and storage.

Job description

Focus: Execution, Physical Installation, and Validation.

• Experience: 0–2 Years.
• Data Center: "Rack and Stack" operations. Physically installs servers, switches, and storage. Understands Hot/Cold aisle containment and asset tagging.
• Cabling: Proficient in copper (CAT6/A) termination, professional cable dressing (combing), and labeling. Follows rack elevation drawings with high precision.
• Wi-Fi: Performs physical AP mounting and cable pulling. Conducts "passive" site surveys (walking a pre-defined path with a sensor).
• Construction & Facilities: Assembly of racks and aisle containment. Routine visual inspections of cooling/power units. Adheres to "Clean Build" and OSHA protocols.
• Tooling: Basic use of cable verifiers (LinkSprinter), power drills, and label makers.
• Communication/ Documentation: Provides clear, concise updates to team leads and managers regarding physical layer build progress and project blockers . Able to ask clarifying questions in a concise and timely manner. Notes specific equipment details, serial numbers, and port locations without errors. Delivers organized, written summaries of incomplete tasks to incoming shifts to prevent dropped work.
