Job summary

ZEISS is seeking a Project Technician to lead on-site installation and commissioning of automated measurement systems. You will troubleshoot, program safety controls, and coordinate with customer trades during installations, traveling 50–70% to ensure successful deployments.

You will train customers, document system acceptance, and support engineering changes as needed, while maintaining clear technical reporting for project teams.

Qualifications

• Mechanical aptitude and technical curiosity to lead field installs.
• Strong verbal and written communication for concise reports.
• Ability to read blueprints and CAD drawings.
• Proficiency in MS Office and common software.
• Electrical troubleshooting experience is desirable.
• Team player across the organization.
• Must have a valid US driver license.

Responsibilities

• Lead onsite installation of project content and ZEISS CMM systems.
• Install, troubleshoot, and run ZEISS CMM automated loading systems.
• Coordinate with end-user trades and contractors during installation.
• Document system acceptance and provide installation reports to the project manager.
• Program and troubleshoot safety and electrical systems for each system.
• Provide on-site training and customer support.
