Job summary

Aggreko is hiring a Field Technician 1- HVAC or Power in Atlanta, GA. You will maintain, diagnose, repair, test, and commission Aggreko power generation and HVAC equipment, supporting both shop and field operations to keep equipment safe and reliable for customers.

You will be based at the Atlanta service center, travel locally in a company vehicle, and may work overtime or weekends with potential travel. A high school diploma or GED and 4–7 years of relevant experience are required.

Qualifications

  • 4-7 years of experience working on power generators and/or commercial HVAC equipment.
  • Experience with calculating nominal and effective tonnage and/or kW requirements, along with reading and knowing schematics.

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventive maintenance and repairs of power generators, diesel engines, electrical distribution equipment, HVAC equipment and/or oil free air compressors.
  • Troubleshoot equipment failures at the shop and on customer locations, and handle the repairs.
  • Based out of Atlanta service center with daily field travel in company vehicle.

You'll perform maintenance, diagnostics, repairs, testing, and commissioning of Aggreko power generation and HVAC equipment. This role supports both shop and field operations by ensuring equipment is safe, reliable, and ready for customer deployment while adhering to Aggreko's safety, quality, and operational standards. Power without pause. Heating, cooling and oil-free air without end. We keep our customers’ worlds on. From world-class events that last a few weeks to mining operations and remote communities who rely on us for decades.

What you’ll do
  • You’ll be based out of our Atlanta, GA service center and can expect to work in the field with local travel daily in your company vehicle.
  • You’ll have an opportunity to work overtime and weekends, and there is a potential for travel.
  • Perform preventive maintenance and repairs of power generators, diesel engines, electrical distribution equipment, HVAC equipment and/or oil free air compressors.
  • Troubleshoot equipment failures at the shop and on customer locations, and handle the repairs.
  • You will either be out on your own or teamed up with another technician(s) to set up and operate equipment at the shop and on customer sites.
You are
  • High School diploma/GED or equivalent work experience.
  • 4-7 years of experience working on power generators and/or commercial HVAC equipment, performing inspections, maintenance, and repairs.
  • Experience with calculating nominal and effective tonnage and/or kW requirements, along with reading and knowing schematics.
  • Based on the customer requirements, you may be required to obtain and maintain a TWIC card or valid DOT medical card.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Ability to move or lift objects, typically less than 50 lbs.

Other essential job requirements
  • Availability to work the assigned schedule, travel to work locations (if needed) and be on standby for work outside of regularly scheduled shifts.
  • Must be able to stand, walk and sit for prolonged periods of time; and be able to walk over uneven terrain with functional balance that does not require any special assistive devices.
  • Must be able to move the extremities and spine through a functional range of motion that will permit work to be safely performed from ground / floor level to full overhead level.
  • Must have good finger dexterity to manipulate small items, functional hand-eye coordination, and functionally grip with adequate strength to safely hold tools and stair railing or ladders.
  • Must be able to safely meet the physical demands outlined in the Essential Physical Capacities Assessment and pass the post-offer physical abilities assessment, which includes being able to lift (60 lbs), push/pull (80 lbs), carry (60 lbs), climb stairs and ladders as well as a combination of climbing while carrying objects (15 lbs), stoop, kneel and squat.
