Job summary

Industrial Air Technology is seeking a Technical Sales Representative to bridge engineering talks and customer relations across the Kansas City metro area. This field-based role requires traveling to sites, presenting technical solutions, and translating customer needs into practical system designs.

The ideal candidate will read technical drawings, engage with engineers and operations teams, and advance opportunities from prospecting through close.

Qualifications

• 1-3 years outside sales experience in a technical/industrial environment.
• Ability to read technical drawings, specs, or CAD files.
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Technical Design, or related field preferred.
• Strong consultative sales skills and ability to manage long, technical sales cycles.

Responsibilities

• Identify and develop new business within an assigned territory through in-person visits, site walks, and on-location meetings.
• Partner with engineering, procurement, or facilities teams to understand technical requirements and translate into product/system recommendations.
• Prepare technical proposals, specifications, and designs (CAD drawings, schematics, layouts).
• Conduct product demonstrations and technical presentations on-site.
• Collaborate with internal teams to customize solutions for complex applications.
• Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, or technical drawings.
• Manage quoting, pricing, and proposal development for technical solutions.
• Maintain and grow existing accounts while building new pipeline.
