Job summary

Altec Industries, Inc. seeks a results-driven sales professional to generate new business and expand existing accounts within a defined geographic region.

Assess customer needs, present cost-effective solutions, and coordinate installation and testing of machinery. The role requires frequent travel, strong communication and presentation skills, and the ability to translate technical data into compelling proposals and service contracts.

Qualifications

• Two years of aggregate experience in a comparable position with proven outside sales experience in a similar industry with a degree.
• Must be available for extensive overnight travel.
• Current, Valid Driver’s License required. Commercial Driver’s License may be required for some positions.
• Ability to communicate information clearly in speaking and presenting so that others understand.
• PC skills using spreadsheets, word processing, and other office management applications.

Responsibilities

• Answer customers' questions about products, prices, availability, product uses, and credit terms.
• Arrange for installation and test-operation of machinery.
• Attend sales and trade meetings to obtain market information and trends.
• Collaborate with colleagues to exchange selling strategies and marketing information.
• Prepare sales contracts for orders and submit orders for processing.
• Provide ongoing technical support and feedback to product design team.
