Job summary

Exigent is a long-standing MSP seeking an experienced L2 Field Systems Engineer to join our Managed Services team in the Morristown area. The role combines strong technical troubleshooting with superb client service and communication.

This field role covers on-site and remote support across endpoints, servers, networks, Microsoft 365, cloud services, and security technologies. Travel to client sites in New Jersey and NYC is required, with after-hours on-call when needed.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional IT support experience with MSP/VAR/IT consulting background.
• Strong Windows Desktop/Server experience and MS 365 administration.
• Experience supporting multiple client environments and on-site deployments.
• Travel regularly to client sites in New Jersey and NYC.

Responsibilities

• Provide on-site and remote support for desktops, laptops, servers, networks, and cloud services.
• Act as a trusted technical presence at client locations with potential primary assignment to one client.
• Troubleshoot end-user requests to complex server, network, cloud, and infrastructure issues.
• Own tickets through resolution with documentation and follow-up.
• Hands-on field engineering: installations, deployments, and site support.
• Assist with onboarding, migrations, and infrastructure upgrades.
• Collaborate with internal engineers, project teams, and vendors.
• Maintain accurate tickets, inventories, and configuration records.
• Follow security, change-management, and service-delivery processes.
• Participate in rotating after-hours on-call schedule.
