Job summary

Texas Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) is seeking an Inspector - License & Cert (Long-term Care Surveyor) in Austin, TX. The role involves on-site inspections of Home and Community-Based Services Medicaid providers, with up to 80% travel across the state.

You’ll assess compliance with state and federal rules and prepare detailed reports for regulatory determinations. Qualified candidates may have a Four-year degree and experience in quality assurance, investigations, and regulatory

Qualifications

• Four year degree from an accredited college or university, preferred.
• Experience in investigations related to quality outcomes preferred.
• Qualified Intellectual Disability Professionals (QIDP), licensed nurses (LVN/RN), or social workers preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conduct on-site inspections, complaint and incident investigations, and surveys to determine provider compliance.
• Complete inspection or survey reports detailing deficiencies, remedies, and narrative to support regulatory findings.
• Communicate findings clearly with providers and stakeholders; provide information and resolve issues.
• May testify at hearings or in court when required.
