Job summary

Mott MacDonald, a trusted engineering and development consultancy, seeks a Survey Specialist to provide geospatial data collection, analysis, and integration for survey projects. You will work with engineering and construction teams to ensure accurate site layouts and regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities include coordinating activities, directing field crews, processing data, and maintaining databases. The role requires travel, strong technical skills, and a commitment to safety and quality.

Qualifications

• High School graduate or equivalent; associates degree, 4-year degree in related discipline, or SIT is strongly desired.
• Familiarity with surveying terms and with the use and care of survey tools and field equipment.
• Knowledge of land rights, easements, and general survey standards.
• Proficiency in Microsoft, Trimble Software Center, and AutoCAD Civil 3D.
• Excellent analytical, communication, and organizational skills.
• Familiarity with latest survey and data collector software.
• Knowledge of methods of surveying, with proficiency in linear corridors and pipelines preferred.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate survey activities across multiple project sites, aligning with engineering and construction schedules.
• Direct field data collection and oversee survey crew field activities.
• Process survey data and draft survey linework daily.
• Assist in quality control of survey data and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Maintain survey databases and organize incoming field data for CAD/GIS integration.
• Schedule and dispatch survey crews with proper equipment and resources.
• Collaborate with land agents, permitting teams, and environmental staff.
• Review records and ensure data is processed and drafted accurately and daily.
