Actalent is seeking a Survey Crew Chief for Omaha, NE. You will lead field survey operations on large construction projects, ensuring accurate data collection, staking, and utility mapping, while operating GPS, robotic instruments, and total stations.

You will coordinate daily with office staff and manage survey crews on site. The role emphasizes reading construction plans, establishing survey control to third-order accuracy, and maintaining safety along with OSHA standards.

Qualifications

• Two years of general survey experience, construction staking a plus.
• Proficient with GPS, robotic instruments, and total stations.
• Experience in as-built surveys, stakeouts, mapping, and boundary surveys.
• Ability to read and interpret construction plans and specs accurately.
• Capable of performing closed level loops to third-order accuracy (1:10,000).
• Strong field leadership and teamwork skills.
• Proficient with data collectors/tablets and data backup structures.
• Good communication and safety compliance (OSHA).

Responsibilities

• Operate conventional survey equipment to support construction activities.
• Perform as-built surveys, stakeouts, and survey control establishment.
• Backup and organize data per file structures and company standards.
• Coordinate with office staff to translate field data for documentation and design support.
• Lead survey crews and represent the company on job sites with clients and contractors.
• Read plans and guide field layout, staking, and utility mapping.
• Ensure safety compliance and participate in required documentation.
