Job summary

Gcw,-Inc. is seeking an experienced Survey Party Chief to organize and lead a field survey crew on multiple projects in the Reno, NV area.

You will oversee field operations, perform staking, and ensure precise data collection for topographic mapping and boundary surveys. The role requires strong knowledge of total stations, GPS data collection, and field note techniques, with a focus on safety and efficiency in variable weather conditions.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; AS/BAS preferred.
• Minimum of five years survey experience; at least three years as Party Chief.
• LSIT certification preferred; valid driver’s license required.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and manage a survey crew and all operations; ensure accuracy of work.
• Prepare and verify mathematical calculations; compute distances, bearings, traverses, elevations.
• Conduct field operations, secure equipment, ensure safety practices, and record field data.
• Perform construction staking to mark precise locations per project plans.
• Operate survey instruments and maintain equipment; ensure materials and gear are in good condition.
• Assist engineers with as-built information and conflicts with plans.
