Job summary

Colliers Engineering & Design is seeking a Survey Instrument Operator to join our Norfolk, VA survey crew. You will assist the Crew Chief with field surveys, operate Total Stations, Data Collectors and GPS, and ensure accurate data collection.

The role requires basic math skills, attention to safety, and the ability to drive/transport equipment. Strong teamwork and effective Communication are essential in supporting the survey team.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Good organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks.
• Proficient with basic math and measurements used in surveying.
• Experience in surveying equipment and field data collection preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist Crew Chief in field surveys.
• Operate survey equipment and collect data.
• Use Total Stations, Data Collector, GPS and related gear.
• Upload/download field data collections.
• Transport and set up surveying instruments.
• Comply with safety policies and SOPs.
• Maintain and care for survey instruments and gear.
• Assist with stocking and maintaining survey truck supplies.
