Job summary

CHA Consulting, Inc. is seeking a Survey Instrument Operator to join our Survey Geospatial Team in Norwell, Boston, or Hartford.

You will travel to project sites to support field data collection, operate GPS receivers, total stations, and data collectors, and assist with field calculations and sketches. No prior experience is required, though internships or coursework are a plus; strong math and outdoor work ability are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's degree and/or Bachelor's degree preferred.
• No prior experience required; internships preferred.
• Strong math skills (trigonometry and geometry).
• Ability to lift and carry equipment over uneven terrain and work outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office preferred.
• NSPS CST Level I certification preferred.
• Drone piloting experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Travel to various project sites to support field data collection, learning and applying survey methods and equipment operations.
• Prepare, organize, and maintain field equipment including GPS receivers, total stations, and data collectors.
• Support Crew Chief in field calculations and sketches, data preparation, and plan content.
• Aid in boundary, topographic, and construction surveys as part of a field team.
