Job summary

Colliers Engineering & Design in New York is seeking a Survey Instrument Operator to join our survey crew, supporting data collection from air, ground and subsurface to deliver precise results. You will work with Total Stations, GPS and Data Collectors, assist the Crew Chief, and help prepare sites and equipment for surveys while following safety policies.

Qualifications

• High School/GED or equivalent.
• 2+ years of experience.
• Valid Driver’s license may be required.
• Demonstrate basic organizational skills and prioritization.
• Intermediate knowledge of surveying practices and equipment.
• Ability to operate surveying equipment.
• Occasional travel; may be required to drive long distances.
• Ability to read, write, and understand English.

Responsibilities

• Assist Crew Chief in field surveys.
• Perform assignments using standard equipment and safety methods.
• Use Total Stations, Data Collectors, GPS and related tools.
• Upload and download field data collections.
• May drive the Survey vehicle.
• Transport and set up instruments and prepare survey sites.
• Follow safety policies and SOPs.
• Maintain survey instruments and equipment.
• Assist with stocking the survey vehicle and supplies.
