Job summary

SSMC in Panama City, FL is seeking a Field Survey Assistant to support crews on highway and utility projects. You will help with equipment maintenance, set up survey instruments, and assist the Crew Chief with data collection while following safety protocols.

Candidates should have a high school diploma, be able to travel, and be capable of performing physical tasks outdoors. The role requires a valid driver's license and willingness to work overtime when needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Must obtain badges/certifications for site access (e.g., MOT, school badges, Duke Energy, CSX, DOD).
• Able to work outdoors in inclement weather and on active construction sites.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload survey equipment to and from work vehicle.
• Set up backsights and foresights.
• Maintain and operate survey grade instruments.
• Setup safety equipment and flag traffic when necessary.
• Assist in searching for property corners; may perform light office duties as assigned.
