Southeastern Surveying and Mapping Corp. is seeking a Field Survey Assistant to support daily surveying activities in Pensacola, FL. You will help operate survey instruments, maintain gear, and collect field data under the guidance of the party chief.

The role requires high school diploma or equivalent, 1 year of survey experience, and ability to obtain site badges. Comfort working outdoors in varied weather and traveling to field locations is expected.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 1 year surveying experience as Rodman, Instrument Man, or equivalent.
• Must obtain badges/certifications to enter job sites (MOT, school badges, etc.).
• Operate surveying equipment (GPS, RTK, total stations, levels).

Responsibilities

• Assist field surveying activities and maintain equipment.
• Load/unload survey gear for daily tasks.
• Set up backsights/foresights and demonstrate instrument setup.
• Operate survey instruments and enter data accurately.
• Assist party chief with field notes and project decisions.
• Support safety procedures and teamwork on site.
