Job summary

SSMC is hiring a Survey Instrument Technician in Freeport, FL to support field surveying activities. You will assist with equipment setup, data collection, and coordination with the crew chief to ensure accurate measurements.

The role requires standing for long periods, ability to work outdoors in varying weather, and willingness to travel as needed. Prior surveying experience and badge/certification readiness are valued.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum 1 year of survey experience preferred.
• Ability to obtain site badges/certifications as needed.

Responsibilities

• Assist field surveying activities and maintain equipment.
• Set up backsights/foresights and operate instruments.
• Load/unload equipment and ensure daily charging.
• Support crew chief with field notes and data collection.
