Job summary

Innova Solutions is seeking a Field Support Technician for a full-time, 6-month contract in Atlanta, GA. You will perform installation, testing, troubleshooting, and maintenance of structured cabling and network equipment to support customer projects and data-center environments.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Install, test, troubleshoot, and maintain structured cabling.
• Install, configure, and support network equipment including switches, routers, firewalls, IP phones, and wireless devices.
• Handle MAC requests, hardware break-fix, replacements, and connectivity support.
• Install cabling in data centers and network closets.
• Patch cables, optimize switch ports, test carrier circuits, and clean network cabinets.
• Diagnose cabling, connectivity, and network performance issues to meet SLAs.
• Support Wi-Fi deployments, access points, routers, and roof-mounted antennas.
• Coordinate with project managers and customers to deliver field services.
• Maintain work orders, inventory, and customer communications; participate in on-call rotations.

Field Support Technician

Position type: Full Time - Contract role Duration: 6 Months Location: Atlanta, GA

As aField Support Technician,you will:

• Perform installation, testing, troubleshooting, and maintenance of structured cabling systems including CAT3, CAT5, CAT5e, CAT6, and fiber optic cabling.
• Install, configure, and support network infrastructure equipment including switches, routers, firewalls, IP phones, and wireless devices.
• Execute Move, Add, Change (MAC) requests, hardware break-fix activities, device replacements, and network connectivity support.
• Install power and data cabling within network closets, racks, cabinets, and data center environments.
• Perform cable patching, switch port optimization, carrier circuit testing, backup testing, and network closet clean-up activities.
• Diagnose and resolve cabling, connectivity, and network performance issues while ensuring compliance with service level agreements.
• Support Wi‑Fi deployments, wireless access points, routers, roof‑mounted antennas, and preventative maintenance activities.
• Coordinate with project managers, customer teams, and operations personnel to deliver projects and field service requests efficiently.
• Maintain accurate work order documentation, inventory records, service reports, and customer communications. Participate in on‑call rotations and provide emergency support to meet customer operational requirements.

The ideal candidate will have:

• 5+ years of experience in data communications, network infrastructure, or structured cabling environments.
• Strong experience with copper and fiber cabling installation, termination, testing, and troubleshooting along with using cable testers, fiber testers, and network diagnostic tools.
• Basic knowledge of Cisco phones, switches, routers, and LAN/WAN networking concepts.
• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Knowledge of 66 Block and 110 Block cross‑connect procedures.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience working in communications closets, data centers, and enterprise network environments.
• Experience with network hardware deployments, rack and stack activities, and UPS systems.

This position is only open to applicants who can be engaged on a W-2 basis.

PAY RANGE AND BENEFITS:

Pay Range*:

$25 - $28/hr.

*Pay range offered to a successful candidate will be based on several factors, including the candidate's education, work experience, work location, specific job duties, certifications, etc.
