Schindler Elevator Corporation (U.S.) in Washington, DC is seeking a Field Superintendent for Existing Installations (EI) to lead servicing, maintenance and repair of assigned elevator units, ensuring safety, quality and cost management while meeting contract requirements.

You will manage field technicians, coordinate routes and parts, partner with Area Managers to implement best practices, and collaborate with sales teams on service orders.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of technical leadership experience or elevator industry experience preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in elevator industry or related field.
• Strong problem-solving, communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to manage sensitive employee relations issues.
• Proven leadership skills.
• Proficiency in MS Office suite.
• Strong organizational skills.
• Adaptability in a fast-paced environment.
• Flexibility to be on call as needed.

Responsibilities

• Oversee servicing, maintenance and repair of assigned units to meet quality, safety and cost standards.
• Support area objectives through effective project oversight and employee management.
• Build a safe and effective team environment by leading field technicians to meet contract requirements and quality standards.
• Coordinate routes, scheduling, ordering parts and verifying payroll accuracy while assuring profitability.
• Partner with Area/Territory Operations Managers with implementation of company & industry best practices to achieve service financial and delivery metrics.
• Perform regular site inspections to deliver exceptional service, maintenance, warranty and repair offerings.
• Conduct Field Safety Audits at required intervals to ensure technicians understand and follow safe work practices.
• Educate technicians on processes, tools and standards through training and performance programs thereby continuously improving service delivery.
• Manage logistics and implement preventive maintenance strategies; schedule quarterly customer site visits.
• Collaborate with the local sales team to estimate service orders; Maintain relationships with local IUEC business agents and communicate effectively to resolve disputes.
• Partner with New Installation and Modernization Project Managers during contract conversions to ensure customer satisfaction.
• Act as a liaison between internal stakeholders and customer to investigate, resolve and address any operational challenges that may arise.
