Job summary

Schindler Group in Chicago, IL is seeking a Field Superintendent for Existing Installations to lead service and repair of assigned elevator units, ensuring quality, safety and customer satisfaction. You will manage project audits, staffing, training and safety compliance while coordinating with sales and field teams.

Expected to mentor hourly staff, optimize manpower, and uphold Schindler's standards. A bachelor’s degree and 5+ years’ leadership experience in elevators or a technical field are

Qualifications

• Requires a working knowledge of elevators and escalators to manage and direct field personnel.
• Ability to communicate well, both verbally and in writing.
• Proven leadership skills in a technical field.

Responsibilities

• Ensure that maintenance meets Area and Company quality standards and meets all contract requirements.
• Implement customer and Company requirements for quality, performance reliability and passenger safety for each project under supervision.
• Implement EEO/AA requirements in line with Area and/or State and Federal requirements.
• Support sales staff in estimating service orders, scheduling and executing orders, and investigating and resolving customer complaints.
• Develop and implement program of manpower selection, training and performance appraisal essential to productivity and quality improvement objectives.
• Develop route management strategy to ensure uniform application of preventive maintenance while optimizing manpower.
• Develop teamwork and dedication to quality improvement among all employees.
• Maintain relationships with local IUEC business agents and advise Area management of competitor activity related to pricing, performance and manpower.
