Job summary

Schindler Elevator Corporation (U.S.) in Los Angeles seeks a Field Superintendent – Existing Installation to lead installation and service projects, ensure safety and quality, and supervise a unionized workforce in a dynamic environment. You will collaborate with sales and operations to estimate service orders, maintain compliance with standards, and drive productivity while upholding safety commitments.

A bachelor's degree or equivalent experience is preferred, with strong communication skills

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred or 3+ years of technical experience in the elevator industry or related field.
• Experience in installation and service of elevators/escalators preferred.
• Prior Supervisory experience with a unionized workforce is preferred.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, SAP, and Lotus Notes is preferred.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Ensure maintenance meets Area and Company quality standards and contract requirements.
• Implement customer and Company requirements for quality, performance reliability and passenger safety for each project under supervision.
• Support sales staff in estimating service orders, scheduling and executing orders, and resolving customer complaints.
• Manage project audits to assure conformance of performance standards of quality, completeness and safety.
• Develop and implement program of manpower selection, training and performance appraisal essential to productivity and quality improvement objectives.
• Implement route management strategy in support of ensuring uniform application of preventive maintenance procedures while controlling manpower to minimum level.
• Develop spirit of teamwork and dedication to quality improvement among all employees.
• Evaluate and initiate requests for tooling where such tooling would support productivity improvement.
• Maintain and manage pro-active relationships with local IUEC business agent.
