Job summary

Schindler Group in Salt Lake City is seeking a Field Superintendent for Existing Installations to lead service and repair of elevators and escalators while ensuring quality, safety, and customer satisfaction. You will supervise a unionized workforce, assist sales with service orders and training programs, and emphasize productivity improvements.

Proficiency in MS Office, SAP, and strong communication are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred or 3+ years of technical experience in the elevator industry or related field.
• Experience in installation and service of elevators/escalators.
• Supervisory experience with a unionized workforce preferred.
• Proficient in computer applications; MS Office, Lotus Notes, and SAP preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication abilities.

Responsibilities

• Ensure maintenance meets Area and Company quality standards and contract requirements.
• Implement customer and Company requirements for quality, performance reliability and passenger safety for each project under supervision.
• Implement EEO/AA requirements consistent with Area and/or State and Federal requirements.
• Support sales staff in estimating service orders, scheduling and executing orders, and resolving customer complaints; may include a sales role.
• Manage ongoing program of project audit to ensure conformance of performance standards of quality, completeness and safety.
• Develop and implement program of manpower selection, training and performance appraisal for productivity and quality.
• Implement route management strategy to ensure uniform application of preventive maintenance procedures while controlling manpower.
• Foster teamwork and dedication to quality improvement among employees.
• Evaluate and initiate requests for tooling to support productivity improvement.
• Maintain and manage proactive relationships with local IUEC business agent.
