Job summary

Schindler Group in Washington, DC, seeks a Field Superintendent of Existing Installations to oversee servicing, maintenance and repair of assigned elevator units, ensuring quality, safety and cost targets.

You will lead field technicians, coordinate routes, manage logistics, and collaborate with sales and project teams to deliver reliable service and customer satisfaction while developing leaders and advancing safety standards.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of technical leadership experience or elevator industry experience preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in elevator industry or related field.
  • Strong problem-solving, communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage sensitive employee relations issues.
  • Proficiency in MS Office suite.
  • Strong organizational skills and adaptability.

Responsibilities

  • Build a safe and effective team environment by leading field technicians to ensure maintenance meets quality standards as well as contract requirements.
  • Coordinate routes, scheduling, ordering parts and verifying payroll accuracy while assuring profitability.
  • Partner with Area/Territory Operations Managers with implementation of company & industry best practices to achieve service financial and delivery metrics.
  • Perform regular site inspections to deliver exceptional service, maintenance, warranty and repair offerings.
  • Conduct Field Safety Audits at required intervals to ensure technicians understand and follow safe work practices.
  • Educate technicians on processes, tools and standards through training and performance programs thereby continuously improving service delivery.
  • Manage logistics and implement preventive maintenance strategies; schedule quarterly customer site visits.
  • Collaborate with the local sales team to estimate service orders; Maintain relationships with local IUEC business agents and communicate effectively to resolve disputes.
  • Partner with New Installation and Modernization Project Managers during contract conversions to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Act as a liaison between internal stakeholders and customer to investigate, resolve and address any operational challenges that may arise.
