Job summary

San Jose Conservation Corps seeks a Field Site Supervisor I to lead environmental projects in city and county parks, including trail work, invasive species removal, and native habitat restoration. The crew supervisor is responsible for a team of 4-9 Corpsmembers aged 18 to 27.

This full-time, in-person role is based in San Jose with local travel up to 80% and a Monday–Friday schedule, requiring strong safety leadership and collaboration with sponsors and contractors.

Responsibilities

• Transport crew to the job site with equipment trailer in tow
• Oversee projects including landscaping, trail maintenance, new trail construction, invasive species removal, fire fuel reduction
• Direct and lead a crew of 4-9 Corpsmembers to complete projects on time with high quality
• Determine manpower levels, materials, and equipment for each project
• Ensure SJCC+CS policies are followed on site
• Coordinate with program staff and sponsors
• Participate in spike, backcountry, and emergency response expeditions as needed
