Field Setup Technician — Carpentry & Installations

Job summary

WillScot in Durham, NC is seeking a Setup Technician to install, modify and dismantle modular units. You will anchor, level, seam and install components such as ramps and canopies, with on-site electrical and plumbing tasks as required.

Strong carpentry skills and a valid license are essential for success in this role. The role involves customer touchpoints, adherence to safety, and updating work orders via our Field Service App.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Carpentry skills and familiarity with construction trades are a must.
• Set-up and knockdown experience preferred.
• Some experience with customer relationship management preferred.
• A valid license and good driving record are required.
• Ability to work independently in a fast paced environment.
• Some knowledge of computers and good communication skills with customers and co-workers.

Responsibilities

• Sets up units including anchoring, block and leveling, interior & exterior seaming, VAPS installation, steps, canopies, ramps.
• Additional installation/removal of skirting may be required.
• Knock-down duties: ship walls, secure exterior walls, disconnect utilities, prepare for shipment, remove installations.
• Perform on-site electrical and plumbing work for customer units.
• Implement customer modifications as needed.
• Complete Work Orders and Service Orders via the Field Service App.
• Maintain proper working condition of tools and equipment.
• May take on duties of Branch Service Tech or Field Service Tech as needed.
• Maintain good relationships with customers and internal teams.
