Columbus Water Works is seeking a Field Services Technician II in Columbus, GA. This full-time skilled craft position supports the Field Services team, operating heavy equipment such as backhoes and related machinery, with on-call duties on a rotating schedule.

Ideal candidates will have at least 3 years in construction, a valid driver's license, and the ability to obtain CDL and safety certifications within a year. The role requires physical endurance and strong safety awareness.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years construction experience.
• High school graduate or GED required.
• Valid Driver's License with good driving record.
• Able to obtain Commercial Driver's Permit within six months and CDL within one year.
• Able to receive Confined Space Entry and Trench Excavation certifications within one year.
• CPR and First Aid Certification within one year.
• Erosion Control certification preferred.

Responsabilités

• Prepare for daily assignments by loading/unloading materials and equipment per supervisor instructions.
• Clean and wash vehicles and equipment as needed.
• Unloads and sets up at job sites; operates equipment with minimal supervision.
• Coordinate with Construction Foreman to complete jobs as required.
• Exhibits ability to perform heavy manual labor under supervision.
• Performs duties of the Construction Foreman as needed.
• Follow traffic safety procedures at all times.
• Attend seminars and training; on-call duties on rotating schedule.
