Job summary

Johnson Controls, Inc. (Silent-Aire division) is seeking a Field Service Technician to support commissioning and after-sales service in data center environments.

You will work independently with on-site tasks, travel up to 70% to customer locations, and collaborate with other technicians while adhering to safety policies. The ideal candidate has electrical and HVAC knowledge, reads diagrams, and maintains records and reports.

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or GED.
• Registered apprentice in Electrical or HVAC.
• Willing to travel up to 70%.
• Basic understanding of electrical and control systems and how electricity affects temperature and humidity.
• General knowledge of HVAC and mechanical systems.
• Ability to identify 3-phase versus single phase wiring.
• Understand OHMS Law and read voltage with a multimeter.
• Ability to read, understand and work from mechanical drawings.
• Maintain required records and prepare reports.
• Must possess valid passport/driver’s license and ability to travel domestically.

Responsibilities

• Check in with Manager after the end of each workday while in the Field.
• Complete all company forms during and after each day/job.
• Complete daily scheduled tasks and document progress.
• Check in with client at the start and end of each day.
• Obtain client signature on forms where applicable.
• Use Time Clocks and ADP app to account for daily times.
• Submit paperwork for processing in sequence.
• Ensure receipts or invoices have job numbers and are sent to the correct person.
• Assist on job sites with other Field Technicians as needed.
• Answer office emails/calls in a timely manner.
• Secure parts and tools needed throughout the day.
• Report warranty repairs to Manager or Field Supervisor.
• Provide training to Field Service Technician – Level 1 as needed.
• Follow all company policies and NDAs; maintain safety equipment.
