Job summary

Silent-Aire, a division of Johnson Controls, is seeking an experienced engineering technician for field work on large-scale cooling systems and CRAHU units. You will read blueprints, install and commission HVAC components, and troubleshoot complex refrigeration equipment.

You will split time between customer sites and our manufacturing teams, ensuring high quality service and clear communication with stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Must possess a valid driver's license.
• Knowledge of operation principles for cooling/refrigeration equipment.
• Experience with startup and commissioning at customer sites preferred.
• Ability to read blueprints, specifications and schematics.
• Willingness to travel to field locations (domestic/international).
• Must pass a DOD background check and be a US citizen.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret electrical, control and mechanical blueprints and drawings.
• Measure and lay out reference points for installation.
• Assemble and install refrigeration or air conditioning components.
• Layout and connect piping; welding and brazing where required.
• Start up systems and test for leaks; recharge and calibrate as needed.
• Troubleshoot and repair HVAC/refrigeration equipment and PLC-based controls.
• Communicate technical issues to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Travel to field sites and collaborate with customers and manufacturing teams.
