Job summary

Silent-Aire, a division of Johnson Controls, seeks an engineering technician with expertise in large-scale mechanical systems and mission-critical facilities. You will split time between field customer interfaces and collaboration with manufacturing teams to optimize cooling equipment and services.

The role requires experience with refrigeration, PLC-based controls, and strong problem-solving abilities, supported by solid safety knowledge and effective communication with internal and external

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Knowledge of cooling/refrigeration equipment and systems.
• Knowledge of electricity and control systems.
• Familiarity with safety practices and building codes.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Experience with startup/commissioning at customer facilities.
• Ability to read blueprints, specs, and schematics.
• Ability to maintain records and prepare reports.
• Willingness to travel domestically and internationally.
• Capable of lifting up to 40 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret electrical, control and mechanical blueprints, drawings, and specs.
• Assemble and install refrigeration or air conditioning components.
• Measure and lay out reference points for installation.
• Measure, cut and connect piping using welding/brazing techniques.
• Start up system and test for leaks.
• Troubleshoot and repair HVAC/refrigeration equipment and PLC-based controls.
• Communicate technical issues to diverse stakeholders.
• Travel to field sites to support customers and manufacturing teams.
