Kapsch TrafficCom is seeking a Field Services Technician II in Memphis to perform advanced maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of ITS devices and infrastructure for the Memphis SmartWay system.

You will handle preventative and corrective tasks, respond to tickets, diagnose complex issues, and support field teams while maintaining documentation and inventory. This role requires travel to roadside sites and on-call hours.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent with ITS exposure preferred.
• Strong troubleshooting across electrical, fiber optic and network systems.
• Ability to read schematics and technical plans.
• Experience with electronic testing equipment.
• Knowledge of low voltage, networking and wireless comms.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on ITS devices and infrastructure.
• Respond to trouble tickets within required timelines and diagnose complex issues.
• Maintain logs, inventory, and service records; support subcontractors.
• On-call rotation and non-standard hours as needed.
• Mentor junior technicians in field operations.

To learn more about our solutions and innovations, visit our website here.**The Field Service Technician II** is a role responsible for advanced maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) devices and infrastructure supporting the Memphis SmartWay system.**How You'll Make an Impact*** Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on ITS systems* Respond to and resolve trouble tickets within required timelines* Diagnose and repair complex issues across multiple ITS devices* Maintain and support systems including CCTV, DMS, HAR, detection systems, wireless communications, fiber optic networks, and network equipment* Perform utility locating for fiber and power infrastructure* Install, upgrade, modify, and replace ITS equipment as required* Utilize diagnostic tools and testing equipment to troubleshoot system faults* Maintain accurate daily logs, labor tracking, and service records* Receive and manage inventory and assist with material requests* Support subcontractors and ensure work meets quality and specification standards* Assist and guide junior technicians in field operations**What Makes You a Great Fit*** Associate’s degree in Electronics, Computer Science, or +6 years of relevant field experience (ITS or similar preferred)* Strong troubleshooting skills in electrical, fiber optic, and network systems* Ability to read schematics and technical plans* Experience with electronic testing equipment* Knowledge of low voltage systems, networking, and wireless communications* Proficiency in Microsoft Windows and basic Office tools* Strong communication and problem-solving skills* Outdoor and roadside work near active traffic and elevated equipment* On-call rotation (approximately one week per month)* Non-standard hours including nights and weekends as needed**Highly desired*** Experience with ITS/SmartWay systems* Hands-on work with CCTV, DMS, HAR, detection systems, and network infrastructure* RF or microwave communication experience* Roadside or transportation system experience* CDL preferred or ability to obtain one, Must obtain once hired **What We Offer*** Build expertise across networking, fiber optics, wireless communications, and intelligent transportation systems* Contribute directly to the safety and efficiency of the regional transportation network* Career growth, stability, and the opportunity to develop within a global organization.* A competitive compensation range of $24.00–$29.00, based on experience, skills, internal equity, and market data.* A full benefits package including: unlimited paid time off, 11 paid holidays, 401(k), a no-cost medical insurance option for employees (including dental and vision insurance), and an FSA option.**Take the next step in your career with Kapsch.*****A Note on How We Use AI****: We believe hiring is a human decision.
