Job summary

Kapsch TrafficCom AG in Memphis is seeking a Field Service Technician II to perform preventative and corrective maintenance on ITS devices and infrastructure supporting the Memphis SmartWay system. You will diagnose and repair complex issues across CCTV, DMS, HAR, detection systems, and network equipment, and install or upgrade ITS hardware as needed.

Qualifications

  • Associate’s degree or equivalent experience in electronics, computer science, or related field.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills in electrical, fiber optic, and network systems.
  • Ability to read schematics and technical plans.
  • Experience with electronic testing equipment.
  • Knowledge of low voltage systems, networking, and wireless communications.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Windows and basic Office tools.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Outdoor/roadside work near active traffic and elevated equipment.
  • On-call rotation (approximately one week per month).
  • CDL preferred or ability to obtain one, must obtain once hired.

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on ITS systems.
  • Respond to and resolve trouble tickets within required timelines.
  • Diagnose and repair complex issues across multiple ITS devices.
  • Maintain and support systems including CCTV, DMS, HAR, detection systems, wireless networks, and network equipment.
  • Install, upgrade, modify, and replace ITS equipment as required.
  • Utilize diagnostic tools and testing equipment to troubleshoot system faults.
  • Maintain accurate logs, labor tracking, and service records.
  • Support subcontractors and guide junior technicians in field operations.
