Job summary

Algonquin Power & Utilities Corp. (AQN), parent of Liberty Utilities, seeks a Manager, Operations - Field Services to lead Troubleman and Metering operations in Kings Beach, CA. You will direct day-to-day field service activities to ensure safe, reliable customer service and drive operational excellence.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in a related field and 5+ years in utility operations, with 3+ years of leadership. AMI/meters experience and strong communication are preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Utility Operations, or related field.
• 5+ years in utility operations, field services, metering, or customer service.
• 3+ years leadership experience with ability to motivate employees.
• Strong communication, conflict resolution, and customer relationship skills.
• Experience with metering operations, AMI systems, and utility work management systems preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and oversight of Troubleman and Metering operations.
• Lead, develop, and support employees in a safe, accountable, and high-performing environment.
• Manage complex customer concerns and serve as escalation point for service-related issues.
• Develop operating procedures, standards, and work practices.
• Lead process improvement initiatives that enhance safety, efficiency, reliability, and customer satisfaction.
• Lead transformational initiatives within the Metering Department including process development and modernization.
• Ensure compliance with policies, safety requirements, regulatory obligations, and CBAs.
• Coordinate outage response, storm restoration, emergency operations, and field service activities.
• Develop operational plans, budgets, goals, and performance measures.
• Foster strong relationships with customers, employees, contractors, and internal stakeholders.
