Job summary

Algonquin Power & Utilities Corp., parent company of Liberty, seeks a Distribution Operations Supervisor responsible for day-to-day control of local water distribution activities. You will ensure safety, regulatory compliance, and cost-effective performance across multiple sites, reporting to the Production/Network Director.

Qualifications

• 2-year or 4-year degree in operations, management, or related technical discipline.
• 3-5 years leading or supervising operational areas and meeting performance targets.
• Experience managing inventory and scheduling staff.
• Must possess or obtain NY State Health Department Grade D Water Operators License within 1 year.

Responsibilities

• Supervises day-to-day operations of distribution systems in accordance with policy and laws.
• Assist with preparing and controlling local construction, operations, production and maintenance within budget.
• Establish a program to meet EPA Partnership for Safe Water goals periodically.
• Ensure water operations meet standards and regulatory targets.
• Supervise implementation of standards and plans to improve efficiency and profitability.
• Maintain operational integrity and safety requirements.
• Provide reporting and analysis to Production/Network Director for budgets and plans.
• Foster coaching and development of employees and idea generation.
• Develop people policies and ensure resources are deployed effectively.
