Job summary

ADB SAFEGATE is seeking a Field Service Engineer to troubleshoot and repair weather systems across client sites. The role emphasizes hands-on field work, independent problem solving, and adherence to FAA/DOT requirements.

The position involves extensive travel (up to 75%) and lifting, with duties including installation, maintenance, and testing of ILS/AWOS/RWIS equipment. ADB SAFEGATE offers competitive compensation and career growth opportunities.

Qualifications

  • Five years of Field Service experience.
  • Willing to travel up to 75% of the time.
  • Lift up to 50-70 pounds.
  • Able to climb 30-foot towers and use safety equipment.
  • Problem solve, troubleshoot, test, repair and service technical equipment.
  • Document testing procedures in FAA/DOT logbooks.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a customer portfolio.
  • Provide routine maintenance checks on a schedule and within FAA/DOT regulatory compliance.
  • Provide timely site reports to central office following customer visits.
  • Use RM3 monitor tools to manage outages/uptime.
  • On-site installation, repair, maintenance and testing tasks.
  • Diagnose errors or technical problems and determine solutions.
  • Provide field calls for system outages.
  • Manage inventory of spare parts.
  • Manage monthly expense reporting.
  • Maintain company vehicle and routine maintenance.

The Opportunity

A Field Service Engineer spends most of their time in the field or at a customer site where he/she helps troubleshoot equipment problems. Field Service Engineers have specific training in the equipment they maintain which requires sound knowledge of the system, wiring, and sensing technology of a system. We are looking for candidates who are self-starters, work independently most of the time, adhere to schedules, follow company processes, manage customer expectations and are able to quickly repair/troubleshoot system problems in the field.

Business Line:

This role directly supports our Weather business. The team provides field maintenance to Instrument Landing Systems (ILS), Automated Weather Observations Systems (AWOS), Control Tower and NAVAIDS and Road/Runway Weather Information Systems (RWIS).

You will make an impact by...
  • Managing a customer portfolio.
  • Providing routine maintenance checks on a schedule and within regulatory compliance (FAA, DOT etc).

  • Using company RM3 monitor tools to manage customer outages/uptime of systems.
  • Providing all on-site installation, repair, maintenance and test tasks.
  • Diagnosing errors or technical problems and determine proper solution.
  • Providing field calls to customer system outages.
  • Managing inventory of company owned spare parts.
  • Managing monthly expense reporting.
  • Managing company owned vehicle – routine maintenance, brake checks, oil changes as needed.
  • Following all company procedures and protocols
The talent we want to inspire has..
  • Five years of Field Service experience
  • Able to drive up to 8 hours per day
  • Able to travel 75% of the time
  • Lift up to 50-70 pounds
  • Able to climb 30-foot towers/properly use all safety climbing equipment
  • Have the ability to problem solve, troubleshoot, test, repair and service technical equipment
  • Document testing procedures and written work in FAA/DOT logbooks
  • Follow all regulatory rules or requirements of job site, inclusive of OSHA and EPA regulations
  • Work independently on-site (most of time only person on-site)
  • Replace/install sensors upon failure
  • Communicate any field issues/concerns to customer and/or to supervisor or central office
  • Properly use test equipment, hand-held tools, and power tools as needed
  • Properly test power source and voltage
  • Hold a valid driver's license
This would be a plus but not a must!
  • ILS Certification
  • Proficient in tower climbing
  • Hold FCC license
