Job summary

ADB SAFEGATE is seeking a hands-on technician focused on intricate wiring of power control boards and final assembly of airfield power controls and lighting units. You will work with technical leads to solve problems and improve processes on the shop floor.

You will wire, assemble, test, and troubleshoot components, read schematics, and ensure high quality, organized work areas. The role emphasizes craftsmanship, safety, and teamwork in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

  • Experience with complex electrical wiring, panel building and harness assemblies.
  • Ability to read, interpret and evaluate electrical schematics and blueprints.
  • Strong eye for detail and commitment to clean, professional workmanship.

  • Wiring and assembling high-precision wiring builds to exacting standards.
  • Inspecting or testing wiring installations or circuits and recording results.
  • Assembling electrical systems and installing components using required fasteners.

Job description

In this role, your primary focus will be on intricate hands-on wiring of power control boards via schematic diagram, where precision and attention to detail are absolute necessity. Beyond the workbench, you will participate in the final assembly and test of complex airfield power controls and lighting units. You will collaborate directly with technical leads in problem solving and process improvements.

  • Wiring & Assembly of complex, high-precision wiring builds while maintaining an uncompromising standard of craftsmanship, organization, and cleanliness.
  • Inspecting or testing wiring installations, assemblies, or circuits for resistance factors or for operation and record results.
  • Assembling electrical or electronic systems or support structures and installing components, units, subassemblies, wiring, or assembly casings, using rivets, or bolts.
  • Adjusting, repairing, or replacing electrical or electronic component parts to correct defects and to ensure conformance to specifications.
  • Cleaning parts, using cleaning solutions, air hoses, and cloths.
  • Reading and interpreting schematic drawings, diagrams, blueprints, specifications, work orders, or reports to determine materials requirements or assembly instructions.
  • Marking and tagging components so that stock inventory can be tracked and identified.
  • Positioning, aligning, or adjusting work pieces or electrical parts to facilitate wiring or assembly.
  • Packing finished assemblies for shipment and prepare them for transport to storage areas.
  • Conferring with supervisors or engineers to plan or review work activities or to resolve production problems
  • Explaining assembly procedures or techniques to other workers.
  • Distributing materials, supplies, or subassemblies to work areas.

  • Experience: Proven professional background in complex, intricate electrical wiring, panel building and harness assemblies.
  • Blueprint Literacy: ability to read, interpret, and critically evaluate electrical schematics and engineering blueprints.
  • Pride in Craftsmanship: A meticulous eye for detail and a deep personal commitment to producing clean, high-quality, professional-grade work.
  • High School diploma or GED; or one to two years related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to perform basic computer functions.
  • Must be dependable and reliable.
Additional Information:
  • Work hours:
    • Day shift hours are Monday-Thursday 6:30a-3:30p and Fridays 6:30a-12:30p, with the ability to flex as required by the business.
    • Night Shift hours Sunday-Tuesday 6:00p-6:00a, with the ability to flex hours as required by the business.
  • Compensation Information
    • A $1,000 bonus after 6 months of employment
    • 3 weeks of paid time off + a holiday shutdown
    • Shift differentials for working nights and weekends
  • Working conditions
    • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is constantly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and talk or hear. The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 25 pounds, occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
    • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to hot/cold conditions (weather related); moving parts or equipment; fumes or airborne particles; and may be exposed to the risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
