Job summary

BearCom is seeking a Field Service Technician I to install and support wireless communication systems. The successful candidate will create basic code plugs, perform mobile installations (radio, antenna, modem, DC-DC converters), and troubleshoot defective two-way radios and related equipment.

Regional travel and on-call hours may be required. A 3+ year track record in service diagnostics, installation, and programming of Motorola/Kenwood/ICOM/Vertex equipment is preferred.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of service technician experience diagnosing, repairing, programming and installing 2-way radio equipment.
• Experience with Motorola, Kenwood, ICOM, Vertex equipment in wireless/communications fields.
• Ability to interpret schematics, blueprints and diagrams; valid driver’s license required.
• Background checks and drug screening are part of the hiring process.

Responsibilities

• Install and support wireless communications systems for customers.
• Create basic programming codeplugs (less than 12 channels).
• Perform basic mobile installations (radio, antenna, modem, DC-DC converters).
• Troubleshoot and repair defective radios and wireless equipment; travel and on-call may be required.
