Description

Mazak Corporation is seeking a Field Service Technician Trainee to join the North Central Service department at our National Technology Center in Florence, KY. The trainee will participate in Mazak's Field Service training program, completing both classroom and on-the-job training to install, maintain, and repair Mazak equipment. The role involves overnight travel primarily within the Florence, KY area.

Scope and Responsibilities:

Essential duties include, but are not limited to:

1. Ensuring a safe and healthy work environment for all employees.
2. Completing Mazak's Field Service training course and on-the-job training.
3. Demonstrating ability to install and maintain Mazak equipment.
4. Diagnosing and repairing mechanical, electrical, and software issues on machines and accessories.
5. Testing machine operation after installation or repair.
6. Understanding blueprints, electrical schematics, and job specifications relevant to your tasks.
7. Learning about new machine features and accessories.
8. Using precision levels to adjust machine bases.
9. Utilizing various test equipment for troubleshooting, such as indicators, test bars, and gages.
10. Traveling as required, including overnight or multiple nights stays.

Education/Certification:

• High School Diploma required.
• Trade school experience preferred.

Skills:

• Mechanical and electrical aptitude with quick learning ability.
• Strong mathematical skills.
• Ability to read micrometers and dial indicators.
• Proficiency with multimeters for checking voltages.
• General computer skills.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs repeatedly and heavier weights periodically.
• Problem-solving skills based on situational needs.
• Strong communication skills.
