Job summary

Socket.dev is seeking a Service Technician I to install, configure, and repair electronic communication and surveillance systems at remote sites. You will provide hands-on field support for cellular, wireless, satellite, and IP-based security equipment.

The role emphasizes troubleshooting, independent work, and customer service, with lifting up to 60 lbs and travel as needed. Prior vocational training and field experience are helpful.

Qualifications

• Must have basic networking knowledge and low-voltage systems.
• Familiarity with Video Management Systems (VMS) and IP-based cameras.
• Ability to work independently or with minimal remote guidance.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and customer service orientation.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word.
• Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record.
• Ability to lift up to 60 lbs and travel as needed.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and repair communication systems including cellular, wireless, and satellite equipment.
• Support maintenance and repair of surveillance systems including IP cameras and NVRs.
• Configure and troubleshoot network, telephony, and satellite terminal systems.
• Perform routine maintenance and system checks; complete field retrofits and upgrades.
• Communicate job progress and issues to customers, project managers, and management.
• Crosstrain and collaborate with additional field operations as required.
