Job summary

Empire Southwest is seeking a field service technician to repair, recondition, and service Caterpillar and allied machines in the field across Henderson, NV. You will troubleshoot, diagnose malfunctions, prepare equipment for delivery, and communicate findings to clients and management.

Travel to remote locations, lift up to 50 pounds, and work in adverse weather. Must have high school diploma/GED and valid driver's license.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Current driver’s license is required.
• DOT licensing, medical card, and endorsements may be required by vehicle size.
• Must be able to communicate in English (speak/read/write).
• 6 months related field experience or more preferred.
• Knowledge of CAT components and systems is preferred.
• Ability to work safely and follow policies.
• CDL eligibility may be required by state or federal law.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and diagnose equipment malfunctions and failures.
• Repair, recondition, and maintain equipment and components.
• Prepare service reports and communicate findings to clients and management.
• Plan and control cost of repair jobs.
• Travel to remote locations as needed and work overtime as required.
• Maintain company equipment in good, clean condition.

Education

High school diploma or GED

Current driver’s license

DOT licensing, medical card, and endorsements

English communication proficiency

Troubleshooting and diagnostic skills

CAT machine knowledge

Safety awareness

Ability to obtain CDL if required
