Job summary

Horan Hiring Solutions, LLC is seeking a union field technician to test, inspect and maintain electrical power equipment across the upper Midwest. The role involves leading apprentices, traveling 50–75% and working on high-voltage equipment in various sites.

Openings range from Level I to IV, with a union pension and per diem covered when traveling. Valid driver’s license required and NETA certification or work toward it is preferred. Salary is on a union scale hourly rate.

Qualifications

• NETA certification or working toward certification is required.
• Travel willingness of 50–75% is required.
• HV testing experience is preferred.
• Must have valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Test, inspect and maintain switchgear, breakers, transformers and cable.
• Run high-voltage test equipment, including power factor test sets.
• Commission new installations and support outages and emergency calls.
• Lead and mentor apprentices and junior techs (senior levels).

Education

NETA certification (any level) or relevant electrical experience on the path to certification

Willingness to travel 50–75%

Valid driver's license

Pay & benefits:

$40.43–$53.91/hr. Daily overtime after 8 hours and double time after 10. Union medical and dental, union pension, per diem and hotel covered when traveling.
