Job summary

J.B. Hunt Transport, Inc. is seeking a Mobile Technician II to perform intermediate maintenance on tractors, trailers, and power equipment. The role operates from the field using a mobile service truck at customer sites and rail yards, under routine supervision.

The successful candidate will handle preventive maintenance, diagnostics, basic repairs, and safety compliance. The position offers a $1,500 sign-on bonus for a limited time and requires availability across shifts and outdoor work.

Qualifications

• Minimum 18 years old for lighter equipment or 21+ with 2 years of experience
• Clean motor vehicle record per company guidelines
• Own basic tools or participate in toolbox program
• Willing to work outdoors and across shifts
• Experience with semi-tractor/semi-trailer maintenance preferred
• DOT/FHWA inspections and air brakes experience a plus

Responsibilities

• Perform intermediate preventive maintenance and repairs on tractors and trailers
• Troubleshoot ABS systems and electrical issues
• Operate mobile service truck at customer sites or rail yards
• Assist with onboarding and mentoring of trainees
• Complete work orders accurately per procedures
• Document damage and estimate repair costs
• Demonstrate cutting torch and welding skills for mid-level repairs
• Patch holes in trailer/ container panels and roofs
• Conduct annual AA trailer and FHWA brake inspections under supervision
