Job summary

Wärtsilä North America is seeking a Service Technician, Mechanical to join our Field Service team. Based in Ft. Lauderdale, FL or Houston, TX, you will diagnose and repair mechanical, electronic, and automation systems on RICE engines and related equipment.

The role requires hands-on expertise with reciprocating engines, fuel systems, and onboard auxiliaries, with extensive travel and a focus on quality and safety. We offer a dynamic, global environment with opportunities to grow.

Qualifications

• Reciprocating Internal Combustion Engines (RICE) knowledge.
• Diesel or heavy fuel engines experience.
• Gas and/or dual fuel engine familiarity.
• Fuel oil or gas injection systems expertise.
• Engines’ auxiliary systems such as separators, radiators, fuel and air systems.

Responsibilities

• Perform Field Service activities according to the work plan and tasks that may be assigned.
• Support in the technical advisory for repair activities executed on customers responsibility.
• Interact with customers during the work execution.
• Interacting with FS back office during work execution.
• Report to local team leader and assist in generating Service Work Reports as needed.
• Ensure that the work is executed according to Wärtsilä quality, health and environmental guidelines and customer site procedures.
• Comply with the management system according to what has been implemented locally for her/his position.
• Proactively consult, advise, and promote available Wärtsilä solutions and products to customer.
• Perform all activities needed to reach the objectives of the position and comply with the orders, instructions, values and company policies applicable as employee and to the position.
