Wärtsilä North America is seeking a Service Technician, Mechanical to join our Field Service team. The role can be based in Ft.

Lauderdale, FL or Houston, TX, requiring extensive travel and hands-on troubleshooting of reciprocating internal combustion engines and auxiliary systems. You will perform advanced mechanical and electronic diagnostic work, interact with customers, and support repair activities while ensuring adherence to Wärtsilä quality and safety standards.

Qualifications

• 1-2 years of field service experience on reciprocating internal combustion engines (RICE).
• Experience with diesel or heavy fuel engines is preferred.
• Familiarity with fuel oil or gas injection systems is a plus.
• Good leadership and collaborative abilities.
• Strong English communication and computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform advanced mechanical and electronics troubleshooting on RICE engines and auxiliary equipment.
• Perform Field Service activities per the work plan and tasks assigned.
• Support technical advisory during repairs on customer responsibility.
• Interact with customers and FS back office during work execution.
• Report to local team leader; assist in generating Service Work Reports.
