Job summary

K Group Companies is seeking a Field Service Technician I to expertly install low voltage systems and train customers on system operations. The role emphasizes teamwork, onsite execution, and precise workmanship, with travel across the Midwest and occasional weekend work.

Strong communication and problem-solving skills are essential. Ideal candidates bring hands-on field experience, basic IT networking knowledge, and the ability to read architectural drawings.

Qualifications

• Hands-on/field experience from previous work experience.
• Possesses and maintains a working knowledge of basic IT networking, configurations and IP addressing.
• Ability to read architectural drawings.
• Team management/supervisor experience.
• Previous experience completing projects within scope.
• Previous experience with service ticketing processes.
• Any previous knowledge in fire, CCTV, intrusion, emergency nurse call systems.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Must have valid US Driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Reviews project quotes and scopes before beginning an onsite execution.
• Inspects installation sites, studies work orders, architectural plans, and comprehensive installation methods.
• Installs low voltage cabling, devices, and systems, adhering to precise specifications, relevant codes, and industry practices, as directed by their supervisor.
• Troubleshoot and diagnose issues with installed systems.
• Conduct routine maintenance and inspections of systems as needed.
• Respond promptly to service calls and customer inquiries.
• Travel extensively across mostly within the Midwest and on occasion weekends that are necessary for multiple sites; Home most weekends.
• Provide excellent customer service and maintain customer satisfaction
