Responsibilities include installation, setup, repair, and ongoing maintenance of vending, cooling, and fountain equipment at customer locations. Diagnoses equipment issues and determines the best repair or replacement approach. Works independently with frequent customer contact. Must pass Pepsi Pro certification within the required timeframe.
Physical requirements may include lifting, carrying, pulling, and moving items weighing between 20 and 45 pounds repeatedly. Position may require kneeling, squatting, crouching, crawling, and bending, often in low spaces. Moving vending machines weighing 800-1200 pounds may be necessary.
PRIMARY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Repair and perform preventative maintenance on marketing equipment
- Unload and reload products as needed
- Educate customers on basic equipment repair and maintenance procedures
- Install equipment, including making holes, routing lines, connecting water and gas supplies, and finding drains for ice units. For box syrup, build racks and connect lines.
- Fill and adjust equipment for proper mixture
- Drive to locations, evaluate situations, and perform necessary work, which may include plumbing, electrical, refrigeration, or carpentry tasks
- Accurately collect and document equipment and customer information
- Replace old parts with new ones
- Maintain parts inventory on the service truck
- Establish positive relationships with customers during service calls
- Complete documentation on e-pad after each call
- Transport miscellaneous items such as compressors, recyclables, etc.
- Follow all safety regulations and procedures
- Operate company vehicle in accordance with all driving rules
- Complete all required training modules (Pepsi Pro training)
- Develop competence in diagnosing and repairing beverage industry equipment
- Maintain regular, reliable attendance
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum 18 years old
- Minimum 21 years old if a valid U.S. CDL is required
- Possession of a CDL license with Non-Excepted Interstate Status (if applicable). Note: In California, except Stockton, both non-excepted intrastate and interstate licenses are accepted. In Stockton, only non-excepted interstate licenses are accepted.
- Pass DOT Physical and DOT Road-test if required
- Adhere to DOT regulations
HELPFUL EXPERIENCE:
- Mechanical systems (troubleshooting, repairs, household repairs)
- Customer service skills
- Refrigeration systems (understanding cycle, components)
- Electrical systems (wiring, outlets)
- Plumbing (drains, water supply, ice makers, valves)
- Equipment installation (HVAC, refrigeration, auto, copiers, fountain products)
