Job summary

Amada America, Inc. seeks a field service professional to install, service, and train customers on Amada equipment, including lasers, punches, and automation systems across Erie and Western Pennsylvania.

You will travel regularly to customer sites, troubleshoot electrical and control systems, read blueprints, run software and programming training, and deliver hands-on operation support with a strong focus on customer satisfaction and timely reporting.

Qualifications

• 4-year degree in Electronics or related field preferred.
• Experience in installation, service, and customer training.
• Able to travel routinely within territories including Erie, PA and Western PA.

Responsibilities

• Install equipment at customer sites and manage the installation process.
• Service, repair, and support equipment as needed.
• Provide on-site training for operation, software and programming.
• Complete status and expense reports weekly.

Description

To support customers with (but not limited to) Amada Lasers. This includes installation, service, operational training, networking, programming training, software training, application training, and bending automation training. The duties are not exclusive of performing the same functions for Punch Press, Shears and other general fabricating machines, including automated material loading/unloading machines. This Service area encompasses the Erie, PA and surrounding areas.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Proficient in troubleshooting electrical, control systems as well as networks but have some knowledge with mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems too.
• Able to precisely follow layout drawings and blueprints used in the installation of equipment.
• Complete status (service) reports daily and expense reports on a weekly basis.
• The ability to communicate in the English language.
• Excellent customer relations and follow through.
• Managing the total equipment installation process at Customer site entailing use of hand tools, climbing, bending, stooping.
• Operation, applications, software, and part programming capabilities, and customer training of such.
• Use of Amada applications software used in line control and part programming.
• Regular travel within assigned territories.

NON-ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• The ability to communicate in the Spanish language is a plus.

SKILLS:

• Ability to analyze and repair mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, optical and electrical systems.
• Ability to use hand tools, Volt/Ohm meter and Oscilloscope.
• Working knowledge of computers and Windows OS.
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical and electrical drawings.
• Being accountable and responsible to service and support a customer through all aspects of the customer's ownership of the machine.

TRAVEL:

• Routine travel within assigned territories with occasional overnight stays.
• Territory - Erie, PA and surrounding areas in Western PA

REPORTING RELATIONSHIP:

• Reports to Regional Service Manager

• None

KNOWLEDGE:

• A 4-year degree in Electronics or a minimum of a 2-year degree with related work experience preferred.

TRAVEL:

• Routine travel within assigned territories with occasional overnight stays.
