Job summary

Amada America, Inc. seeks a service engineer to support customers of Amada Lasers, including installation, service, and training in programming, software, and laser automation. The role covers machines like Punch Press and combo systems and involves on-site work.

You will travel within the Erie, PA region, perform mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical troubleshooting, and deliver hands-on training. Strong communication in English and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs are required.

Qualifications

• A 4 yr degree in Electronics or a minimum of a 2 yr degree with related work experience preferred.
• Willingness to travel within assigned territories including Erie, PA.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Install, service, and train customers on Amada lasers and related systems.
• Provide programming and software training for operators and engineers.
• Train on laser automation concepts and line control software.
• Complete daily service reports and travel within territories.
• Communicate effectively with customers and the Regional Service Manager.

Job description

To support customers with (but not limited to) Amada Lasers. This includes installation, service, operational training, networking, programming training, software training, application training, and laser automation training. The duties are not exclusive of performing the same functions for Punch Press and combination machines, including automated material loading/unloading machines.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Proficient in troubleshooting mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, control systems as well as networks.
• Able to precisely follow layout drawings and blueprints used in the installation of equipment.
• Complete status (service) reports on a daily basis and expense reports on a weekly basis.
• The ability to communicate in the English language.
• Excellent customer relations and follow through.
• Managing the total equipment installation process at Customer site entailing use of hand tools, climbing, bending, stooping.
• Operation, applications, software, and part programming capabilities, and customer training of such.
• Use of Amada applications software used in line control and part programming.
• Regular travel within assigned territories.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

NON-ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• The ability to communicate in the Spanish language.

REPORTING RELATIONSHIP:

• Reports to Regional Service Manager

KNOWLEDGE:

• A 4 yr degree in Electronics or a minimum of a 2 yr degree with related work experience preferred.

SKILLS:

• Ability to analyze and repair mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, optical and electrical systems.
• Ability to use hand tools, Volt/Ohm meter and Oscilloscope.
• Working knowledge of computers and Windows OS.
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical and electrical drawings.
• Being accountable and responsible to service and support a customer through all aspects of the customer's ownership of the machine.

TRAVEL:

• Routine travel within assigned territories with occasional overnight stays.
• Territory will be Erie, PA and surrounding areas.

PAY RATE:

$30.00 - $33.00/HR
