Boutique Recruiting is seeking a Field Service Technician to service industrial inkjet and coding equipment across a Northern Illinois territory, with regular Rockford, IL visits and monthly Cedar Rapids travel. A company vehicle is provided for work and personal use.

The role involves diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining equipment, with opportunities for growth across sites using similar tech. Travel within the territory and occasional overtime are expected.

Qualifications

• 4 to 6 years of relevant technical experience or equivalent military technical experience.
• Strong electromechanical background with diagnostics, troubleshooting, electronics, and software-driven systems.
• IT and networking skills sufficient to support laser systems and communications-heavy equipment.
• Professional, customer-facing presence with strong written and verbal communication.
• Organized, proactive approach to managing a service territory, work orders, and parts inventory.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including occasional overtime and infrequent weekend work.
• Willingness to travel within the territory and occasional trips to nearby states.
• Residence in or near Rockford, IL area preferred; strong candidates outside may be considered.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair industrial inkjet and coding equipment at customer locations.
• Perform preventative and predictive maintenance on a regular schedule.
• Provide on-site service across a Northern Illinois territory with weekly and monthly site visits.
• Analyze printer performance data and produce reports identifying issues and resolutions.
• Track work orders and cases in the service system and document outcomes.
• Manage on-site parts inventory and order replacements to minimize downtime.
• Communicate clearly with customers about technical issues and resolutions.
• Coordinate coverage with nearby technicians and assist teammates as needed.
