Job summary

HERCO is seeking a skilled Field Service Technician to install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain capital equipment used in high‑pressure die casting and advanced manufacturing. This role blends mechanical, electrical, automation, and robotics support, with opportunities for long‑term career growth.

Technicians will work at HERCO's Auburn Hills facility and at customer sites across the United States and Canada.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 3+ years of experience installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, or repairing industrial machinery or manufacturing equipment.
• Valid driver's license and ability to travel throughout the United States and Canada.
• Ability to lift up to 70 pounds and work in manufacturing environments.

Responsibilities

• Install, commission, service, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain manufacturing and automation equipment.
• Read electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, blueprints, and technical drawings.
• Troubleshoot electrical systems, motor controls, sensors, drives, and industrial machinery.
• Support installation, commissioning, and production ramp‑up activities at customer facilities.
• Troubleshoot robotic and automated systems, including FANUC robotics equipment.
• Assist with PLC‑controlled equipment and industrial control systems.
• Perform preventative and predictive maintenance on equipment and automation systems.
• Maintain detailed service documentation, reports, and customer records.
• Train and support customer maintenance personnel on equipment operation and best practices.
• Ensure all equipment operates safely, efficiently, and in compliance with customer and OSHA safety requirements.
